清顺中和，主辅得宜，所合之物，所用之神，皆正气，不必节外生枝，弄假成真，才官食印之为喜用者，配置合宜，则其平生不生贪恋之私，度量宽宏，施为必正，此君子之风也，财官不向日主，而日主贪合强求，混浊破害，主弱辅强，用神杂乱，此心事奸贪，作事徼幸，为多能之象，大率阳内阴外，不激不冲者，为德胜才，如丙寅，戊辰月日，己卯，癸卯年时，皆是，若阳外阴内，则畏势趋利，为才胜德矣。若月在忌神，而日遇贵，或日在忌神而时遇贵，不害，为清华侍从之格，若月日俱在贵而时遇忌神者，皆常调选人也。十一月乙木，花木寒冻，一阳来复，喜用丙火解冻，则花木有向阳之意，不宜用癸以冻花木，故端用丙火。论用神沈孝瞻曰：八字用神，专求月令，以日干配月令地支，而生克不同，格局分焉。于中所用神煞乃天之清气，支中所用神煞乃地之浊气，凡言神煞各分天地二气，胜负吉凶支煞自有诸例言。Sources: 殆知阁 (Daizhige) corpus, Chinese Wikisource and transcribed editions; see the manifest for each book's provenance.
